Position 1: Accountant

 Description

• Location: Libreville, Gabon

As an Accounting Assistant, you will assist the Accounting Manager in managing various entities across Africa. Your responsibilities will include daily accounting tasks, covering but not limited to transaction accounting, bookkeeping, invoice processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow within the company and be exposed to financial modeling and contract management.

Role

• Record keeping and general ledger maintenance

• Invoice preparation

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Month-end closing, including account reconciliation

• Assist in preparing sales tax returns (GST/HST/PST)

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports

• Take on other accounting and administrative duties as needed

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• CPA/Chartered Accountant qualification preferred

• Self-motivated, accountable, and results-oriented

• Ability to drive tasks to completion while managing multiple deadlines

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities

• Eager to learn and grow with the company

Position 2: Project Manager

 Description

• Expected Start Date: Immediate

• Location: Libreville, Gabon

You need to have experience executing metal mining projects in Africa (this is a requirement for the position), possess a solid background in mining engineering, and understand how to achieve good operational results.

You will understand the importance of building excellent teams and earning the respect of people at all levels around you.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the performance of existing mining projects.

• Manage stakeholders such as joint venture partners, clients, and suppliers.

• Lead and guide regional mining managers.

• Support the General Manager of Mining, including team building, strategic initiatives, and opportunity assessments.

• Manage any escalated issues.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to increase future opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.

• Manage the budget, cost control, and financial performance of mining operations.

• Coordinate with the head of technical services to ensure efficient project execution.

• Monitor and analyze operational performance and implement improvements as needed.

• Prepare and report on operational status, performance metrics, and project progress to senior management.

Requirements

• Proven operational and management results in projects of various sizes.

• A bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related field is preferred.

• At least 10 years of mining operations experience with management experience.

• Solid knowledge of mining equipment, techniques, and industry best practices.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Mature ability to manage budgets, costs, and financial performance.

• Commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.

• Proficient in data mining software and data analysis tools.
