Manganese
Mining Projects
Project "Lastourville"
Located in the heart of Gabon near the Ogooué River, our Lastourville site focuses on open-pit manganese mining, with shallow deposits and high-quality grade.
At Africa Mining Development S.A. (AMD), we have developed a processing plant and laboratory, along with essential facilities that adhere to industry standards to help us provide quality products.
We are committed to ensuring the well-being of our workers through the establishment of comfortable living arrangements. Additionally, we have acquired a fleet for the extraction and transportation of minerals to support our operations.

Some of our activities on site:

Mine Development
- Design and setup of the open-pit mine, focusing on shallow manganese deposits (3-5 meters deep).
- Implementation of dry and wet processing systems for efficient mining.
- Recruitment of local and skilled personnel, training, and capacity building.
- Acquisition and maintenance of equipment for mining, processing, and transportation, ensuring high operational standards.

Facilities Construction
- Construction of modular units for site operations, including living quarters and administrative facilities.
- Installation of key processing equipment: crushing, washing, sorting, and storage units.
- Building and equipping an on-site laboratory to ensure quality control.
- Installation of a tailings dam for water recycling and waste management .

Mineral Extraction & Transport
- Fleet acquisition for the mining and transportation of raw and processed manganese.
- Collaborating with local operators for railway transportation from the heart of Gabon to maritime ports, thus decreasing our carbon footprint.
- Efficient logistics management, ensuring smooth transport and export operations.

Local Collaboration & Community Engagement
- Strong partnerships with local authorities to support regional development initiatives.
- Active involvement in creating local direct and indirect employement, infrastructure improvement, and community development.
- Respect for indigenous customs and traditions, ensuring sustainable, culturally sensitive operations.
Exploration Projects
At Africa Mining Development S.A. (AMD), our exploration efforts are driven by a team of seasoned geologists with extensive expertise in mineral exploration and ecosystem understanding. Leveraging advanced geological surveying, remote sensing, and data modeling techniques, we continuously push the boundaries to discover new high-grade manganese deposits across Gabon.
Project "Est"
Acquired in 2022, Project East is situated near Franceville, a region renowned for its premium-grade manganese reserves. The area's geological formations present ideal conditions for the discovery of high-quality manganese blocks.
AMD’s exploration team has conducted multiple geological and drilling campaigns, revealing promising deposits. The geology of the area indicates significant mineralization zones at shallow depths, making it a highly attractive target for open-pit mining.
Throughout these campaigns, we’ve worked closely with local operators and communities, fostering strong collaborative relationships. As we finalize our pre-feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments, AMD is preparing to transition into the mining phase.

Project "Sud"
Situated in a lesser-explored region of Gabon, Project "Sud" presents both unique challenges and exciting opportunities. With its rugged terrain and limited infrastructure, the zone has remained largely untapped by major mining operations. However, initial geological surveys have indicated promising manganese deposits of significant quality.
Through ongoing exploration efforts, we aim to uncover additional reserves and contribute to the further development Gabon’s mining sector, thus develop a new region of the country.
