Africa Mining Development Continues Its Annual Initiative to Supporting Education

Lastourville, 28 October 2026 – Africa Mining Development (AMD) has continued its annual initiative to supporting education in the Poungui Canton, Gabon, and distributing nearly 400 school kits to pupils across six local schools.
Held in the presence of local authorities, school representatives and members of the community, the kids were given school kits that will help them start their school year fully equipped and be ready to learn.
Since establishing its presence in the Lastourville region in 2024, AMD has recognised the importance of building strong relationships with the local communities in the areas where it operates and contributing to their development. Supporting pupils and teachers, in particular, remains an important part of the company's commitment to its host communities.
For AMD, education is fundamental to creating opportunities for younger generations. Providing children with essential school supplies is a practical way of supporting their learning journey while recognising the important role teachers play in shaping the future of their communities.
“Children represent the future of our communities and of Gabon. We believe that supporting their education is a shared responsibility. Through this annual initiative, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to improving their learning conditions and supporting the dedicated work of their teachers,” said AMD's Managing Director.
The smiles and enthusiasm of the pupils remain a source of encouragement for AMD and a reminder of the importance of continuing these efforts. Beyond the distribution of school kits, AMD aims to continue its ambition to build lasting relationships with local communities through consistent engagement, meaningful actions and a shared belief in the potential of future generations.
